About me
Hello!

I warmly welcome you to GS:MotorradMagazin, the online shop for our mutual love of the GS motorcycle series from BMW. I am Armin Würfl, owner, editor-in-chief and publisher of GS:MotorradMagazin. I live with my family in Thyrnau near Passau in the beautiful Bavarian Forest. In mid-2011, as a crazy GS motorcyclist, I took the plunge and approached BMW Motorrad with my idea of designing and launching my own motorcycle magazine specifically for the GS model range. There is no big company behind the GS:MotorradMagazin, but rather a single GS-crazy guy. The first issue was launched in 2012 and 5,000 copies...
The GS:MotorradMagazin Start 2011

It all started with an idea: How do I combine my job and my passion? As a trained offset printer (new German: media technology printing with a focus on sheet-fed offset) and typesetter (new German: media designer with a focus on print), a motorcycle magazine was a natural fit. But bringing a "normal" motorcycle magazine onto the market in 2011, in economically not particularly booming times, was doomed to failure from the start. The competition from established magazines was too great. They ranged from low-budget to "Playboy price level" and were more or less well established on the market. Winter 2011...
GS:MotorradMagazin July - December 2012 - The apprenticeship begins!

The IMOT campaign turned out to be a complete failure. About 30 subscriptions were registered and around 60 individual orders trickled in over the next few months. The first issue of IMOT also caused me a "bloody nose" in the "editor circles". Of course mistakes were made. Among other things, in the rush I confused a proofread travel text with the original version, which was practically "full of mistakes". But that's part of it, you learn from your mistakes. The second edition was published in July 2012 and the third followed in December 2012. The first Christmas edition was almost...
GS:MotorradMagazin January - December 2013 - Time for decisions
gs magazin über mich ueber mich

The number of subscriptions increased. The popularity of the GS:MotorradMagazin was increased dramatically at the BMW MotorradDays in Garmisch with the distribution of more than 10,000 flyers about booked "girls". Many orders followed and the first "Q-Driver" T-shirt was sold by a friendly dealer. The large advertising banner with the "cow and the GS driver, as well as the aluminum cases" was the eye-catcher in Garmisch and probably the most photographed image. In between, I organized the 1st BMW Motorcycle & GS Days in Passau together with my "Thyrnau and Passau" buddies. With mixed weather and a few visitors, the...
GS:MotorradMagazin - The year 2014 - Show presence

I decided to have my own stand at the Bodensee Motorcycle World and joined forces with a number of companies to get a space at a reasonable price. My first stand was 2.5 x 3 meters (depth) and, in addition to the GS:MotorradMagazin, I offered T-shirts with various motifs and the first stickers. Between the Bodensee and IMOT Munich trade fairs, I worked on the first GS:MotorradMagazin special issue:Technology. This issue was originally intended to be available exclusively as a free download on the homepage and on Yumpu. It consisted exclusively of already published material from the GS:MotorradMagazin issues published...
